چکیده
IntroductionTelemedicine has been successfully employed in a wide range of conditions, such as chronic lung disease and COVID-19. This study evaluate the role telemonitoring for early diagnosis acute allograft dysfunction cystic fibrosis adults who underwent transplant (LuTx). Quality life functional level achieved during 12 months follow up were assessed.MethodsPatients randomized into two groups; control group received traditional hospital-based follow-up, whereas patients intervention received, on top standard care, device, with pulse oximeter spirometer integrated. Telemonitoring data digitally transmitted to our centre.ResultsSixteen enrolled each group. No statistically significant difference was found between groups terms incidence dysfunction, time from onset symptoms occurrence LuTx. Moreover, both similar quality level. With reference group: 1) hospital reported consistent those being remotely registered; 2) adherence decreased up; 3) majority high degree satisfaction.ConclusionThe COVID19 pandemic highlighted necessity investigate alternative practices treat chronically ill individuals. is valuable tool improve care LuTx recipients.

Cancer risk among lung transplant recipients with cystic fibrosis.
BACKGROUND Previous studies demonstrated increased digestive tract cancers among individuals with cystic fibrosis (CF), particularly among lung transplant recipients. We describe cancer incidence among CF and non-CF lung recipients. METHODS We used data from the US transplant registry and 16 cancer registries. Standardized incidence ratios (SIRs) compared cancer incidence to the general popul...
متن کاملPharmacokinetic assessment of oral ganciclovir in lung transplant recipients with cystic fibrosis.
Oral ganciclovir has been used as prophylaxis and therapy against cytomegalovirus in patients with HIV infection and following organ transplantation. Oral ganciclovir has clear practical advantages over intravenous ganciclovir but has a relatively low bioavailability and this may be problematic in at-risk patients with malabsorption. The bioavailability and therefore therapeutic potential of or...

There is a survival advantage for selected patients who undergo transplant, but it primarily improves quality of life after transplantation. Unfortunately, patients with IPF have worse outcomes following lung transplantation due to various ...
